TEMECULA – Three people were injured, one critically, when a pickup with a trailer overturned Sunday on northbound Interstate 15 in south Temecula, authorities said.
The freeway wreck also snarled traffic for motorists heading from San Diego towards Riverside County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported at 1:19 p.m. after a black pickup overturned and a cargo trailer was stranded in the middle of the northbound 15 approaching the Pechanga offramp in Temecula, the CHP reported.
Firefighters from CalFire-Riverside County's Temecula Battalion responded and assisted three patients, according to spokeswoman Jody Hagemann. All three were transported to local hospitals by ambulance.
A SigAlert lane closure was requested on the northbound 15 at 1:37 p.m. with an expected duration of 45 minutes, according to the CHP.
