SAN JACINTO – Four teenagers have been arrested after a drive-by shooting in Riverside County left a 5-year-old boy wounded and his 65-year-old grandmother injured.
San Jacinto police Sgt. Ted Hoffman said the boy was playing on the living room floor of the family's home late Sunday night when a bullet pierced the wall and struck him in the leg. His grandmother fell from her wheelchair to shield him, suffering back and arm injuries.
Officers found the suspects minutes after the shooting and a gun was later found.
Arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and shooting at an occupied dwelling were three 18-year-olds, Romel Kelley, Quan Police and Richard Mann; and a 17-year-old whose name wasn't released because he is a juvenile.
Police do not know a motive for the shooting.
