WILDOMAR – A blaze that broke out Wednesday afternoon in the brushy hills east of rural Wildomar was contained to six acres, with no structural damage or injuries reported.
The fire on Barker Lane near Keller Road, in the hills behind Grear Ranch, was reported at 12:53 p.m.
Aout 130 firefighters, assisted by a helicopter, four air tankers and one air attack plane, had the flames quelled by 2:30 p.m., said Jody Hagemann of Cal Fire.
Motorists on the Temecula Valley (15) Freeway could see smoke on the east side of a ridge east of the highway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
