RIVERSIDE – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire fell for the eighth consecutive day and has dropped nearly 12 cents since hitting a record high, according to figures released Tuesday by the Oil Price Information Service.
The average in Riverside and San Bernardino counties of $4.498 is 11.6 cents lower than the record high of $4.614 set June 22 and 10.1 cents lower than a month ago. However, the average is $1.398 higher than at this time last year.
The average is nine-tenths of a cent lower than the figure released early Monday. The average fell three-tenths of a cent from Sunday to Monday; four-tenths of a cent from Saturday to Sunday; seven-tenths of a cent from Friday to Saturday; another seven-tenths of a cent from Thursday to Friday; 1.1 cents from Wednesday to Thursday; 1.3 cents from last Tuesday to Wednesday; and three-tenths of a cent from July 7 to last Tuesday – after increasing two-tenths of a cent from July 6 to July 7.
