SANTA CLARITA – Authorities say a 2-year-old boy has been found dead in his family's van in Santa Clarita north of Los Angeles.
Sheriff's detectives say they began a homicide investigation Monday afternoon when they responded to a call and found the toddler's body strapped in a car seat.
Sheriff's Lt. Dave Dolson says the boy was likely in the van for several hours. He says paramedics and deputies arrived at about the same time and pronounced the boy dead.
Deputies told K-CAL TV they are questioning family members but it's not known if any charges will be filed.
