LOS ANGELES – Federal and local authorities have seized 5,600 marijuana plants and arrested four people in raids in Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Sarah Pullen says an organized network bought houses for up to $800,000 each in newer tracts and configured them as marijuana grow houses.
The DEA says each of the five houses raided Tuesday could have generated about $3 million annually in drug proceeds.
Arrested on charges of conspiracy to manufacture 1,000 or more marijuana plants were Sang Vong Din, 47; Sehn Nguyen, 41; Quan Vi To, 51; and Jennifer Zhang, 44. Each faces a minimum of 10 years in prison if convicted.
